ASSISTANT          Lake Cowichan School – Position #08-023 - NEW

Job Title:                     Behaviour/Personal Care Education Assistant - Male     

Hours per week:           0 hours  On call basis

Hours of work:             8:15am – 2:15pm 

Qualifications:              Behaviour, Personal Care, Swimming, Current First Aid/CPR, 

                                        Sign

Specific Duties:             Active, toiletting, understanding of autism spectrum disorders (ASD),  

 non-verbal, advanced computer skills, swimming, signing (50 signs),

 SET-BC equipment.  Community lifeskills focus.  (Not combinable with

 NHS position.)

 Designated back-up sub for Position #02-033(BHVR/PC-M).

Job Title:                      Behaviour/Personal Care Education Assistant - Female 

Hours per week:           0 hours  On call basis

Hours of work:             8:45am – 2:45pm 

Qualifications:              Behaviour, Personal Care, Swimming, Current First Aid/CPR

Specific Duties:             Visually impaired, medical training, feeding, swimming, toiletting,

 heavy lifting, safety concerns, monitoring student’s balance and

 walking progress in classroom, hallways, and pool.  Designated

 back-up sub for Position #96-021(BHVR/PC-F).

Sec. 17 (g) of C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement:

If a person has been bumped or his/her position has been eliminated and the position from which he/she has been bumped or eliminated comes open or is reinstated within sixty (60) working days from the time of being bumped or eliminated, then that person has the right of first refusal to revert to his/her former position.
